Entrepreneurship at Red Cloud
By Shane Star '13
Red Cloud High School is in the process of developing a business program. A new class here at Red Cloud is called Entrepreneurship. It is part of the new business program that's getting integrated in the school system. It is also one of the first classes in the state of South Dakota of its type.
I interviewed Kayla Rockwell, the class's teacher, about her thoughts and expectations on the class.
Q: What are your goals for the class?
Kayla: To get people excited about business and to show the possibilities of pursuing business.
Q: Why is the class important?
Kayla: It is important because there's a need for entrepreneurs in society.
Q: What are some activities in the class?
Kayla: Writing business plans, guest speakers, marketing campaigns, and financial plans are some of the things we're going to be doing.
Q: What are your experiences with business?
Kayla: I majored in Business and I did a final project on marketing plans for a local business.
Q: Why did you choose to major in business?
Kayla: I chose business because it was something that I could be creative with.
