Senior Trip Recap
By David LaDeaux '13
“Our senior trip was a really great experience. My favorite part was the Rockies game,” said Dom Pilcher.
The class of 2013 went to Denver, Colorado last weekend for their senior trip. Upon arrival, they checked in and went to the 16th Street Mall for a few hours before walking to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. “The Cheesecake Factory was worth the wait,” said Too Short Tommy Janis.
The students were in Denver for four days “enjoying the sweet smelling Rocky
Mountain air and Starbucks,” said Bryan Pipe On Head. On Friday
morning, they went to the Red Rock Amphitheater just outside Denver for a
few hours. After Red Rocks, they went to the Denver Mills Mall for
lunch and a little bit of shopping. Friday was the busiest day because they also
went to the Boondocks for go-cart racing, mini golf, bowling, laser tag,
and all kinds of arcade games. Then finally, they wrapped up the night with a Colorado Rockies baseball game against the Tampa Bay Rays. “It was the
only game I ever went to and I thought it was awesome," said Phillip Zimiga.
After the game, the students made their way over to the Hard Rock
Cafe for dinner and a live performance from a local band, “which was
awesome,” said Tatiana Stands.
“Saturday was probably the most fun day,” adds Haley Hernandez. On Saturday, they went to the grand reopening of the seasonal Elitch Gardens, a theme park in Denver. They were at Elitches for approximately eight hours before heading back to the hotel for dinner.
On Sunday the class of 2013 checked out of the hotel and made the long journey back home.
