Prom Night Approaches
By Sierra Concha '13
Prom
is finally here.
The highly anticipated event will be held on Saturday,
April 20th beginning at 5:30 pm. Dinner with family will begin at this
time and continue until 6:30. The juniors have fund-raised and organized
prom as they do every year. The theme is “Somewhere Only We Know.” It’s a
fairy tale wonderland that the juniors have spent hours decorating on
Sunday and every night this week so far.
The
enjoyable experience doesn’t just end at the Red Cloud Gym. Post-prom will
be filled with excitement as they take a bus full of students to the ice
skating rink in Rapid City. After spending time together in a chilly
ice rink, the students will regain their energy eating Denny’s before
they return home from an exciting night. Kylie I’atala ‘14 has
participated heavily in planning for prom and is excited for Saturday.
“The junior class worked really hard for it to look perfect,” she said. “We
want it to look like ‘Someplace Only We Know.’”
The
entire event will occur for 12 hours. This is one of the last major events of the school year. The DJ
will be Red Cloud alumni Franklin Sioux Bob ‘11, who will light up the dance
floor until 10:00pm. The juniors and seniors are thrilled that the
biggest event of the year is coming.
