Snow Showers Ends Spring Flowers
By David LaDeaux '13
We
welcomed the spring season back with two snow storms right at the
beginning of the new season. Most of the animals have returned to the
spring homes, but because of the snow storms we have been set back on
the best season of the year. “I think it's beautiful," said Philip
Zimiga during a weather broadcast. The fresh coat of snow is keeping the
Pine Ridge Reservation looking like a Winter Wonderland even as the
season changed a few weeks ago on March 20th.
Some
schools have had more two-hour late starts and snow days in these past
few weeks than in the actual winter season, including Red Cloud. Now teachers have to figure a way
to make up the missed assignments for the students. Spring weather
should put winter behind it and kick it in gear. “I think it should be
spring already. I'm tired of South Dakota’s bipolar weather,” stated senior Sierra Concha.
It's been snowing heavily in the past couple weeks- spring is starting to be the new winter. The seasons are getting themselves mixed up and no one knows why! But people tend to like the snow better than spring weather. “I like winter because its pretty and because Christmas is my favorite,” says Sierra Concha '13
