Student Council School Spirit

As we reach deeper into the second semester of the 2012-2013 school year, Red Cloud High School will be having a variety of events to help boost school spirit and ensure that we end the school year on a fun note. The February 4-10 week will especially offer chances to show off your school spirit.

Search through your couch cushions and behind the washing machine for your loose change. Starting Monday February 4th, we will begin the Pennies for Patients. The endeavor raises money for people suffering from Leukemia. Last year we were able to raise an astounding $475, but are challenging you students to reach deep into your pockets and deeper into your hearts by making this year’s goal $750. The class that is able to raise the most will win a pizza party, but that isn’t the best part. The winning class will also be given the opportunity to shave, clean, James “Flan-Man” Flannery’s head! (Added incentive for the freshman that have his class!)

Come out and support the boys’ basketball team for one of the biggest games of the regular season as they take on the St. Thomas More Cavaliers on Tuesday, February 5th here at Red Cloud! We are having a blue-out to show our school spirit, so rock your best RCHS gear. If you come to the game all blue from head to toe, you will be admitted for free. Face painting will be offered in the school commons on Tuesday starting at three.

Friday February 8th will be the day that girls’ basketball gets their shot at the Cavs. Keep up the school spirit as we have a white-out to cheer on head coach Amanda Carlow and the Lady Crusaders. Face painting will once again be held in the commons on that day and the same free admittance rule will be offered.

Bust out your daubers and fill the Free Spaces, as the junior class will be having a Bingo on Sunday, February 10th! It will be held from 1-5 in Billy Mills Hall. Invite your family and friends to come support the Class of 2014.

Fulfill your sweetheart’s sweet tooth this coming Valentine’s Day. Crush Grams will be sold again this year during the season of love. Buy a purple Crush for your best of friends. Orange Crush will be sold for that special someone that you’re crushing on. Strawberry Crush is for that special someone that you love. As of now, Crushes can be bought for a dollar from senior student council members, but listen to morning announcements for any changes.

Stand up and be proud, Red Cloud! Support your friends and teammates in the upcoming activities, and don’t be afraid to show you Crusader Pride!
